When Diana attended a students' dance in Adelaide in the
spring of 1983, she wore a black and white ensemble designed
for her by Jan Vanvelden.  The black and white blouse with its
brush stroke print, full black silk skirt, and black leather
cummerbund were an elegant combination.  For an afternoon
watching polo that summer, Diana teamed the blouse and
cummerbund with a slim white denim skirt, creating a more
casual ensemble.  Those four pieces have been recreated: the
pleated and yoked blouse is made using custom fabric by
Sylvia Braden; the black skirt is constructed from silk crepe de
chine; the white skirt (which contains
real pockets) is made
from white stretch denim; and the cummerbund is made from
faux leather.  The blouse closes in the front with snaps that are
hidden under one of the pleats, and both skirts zip up the back.
The blouse and skirts are each lined with white fabric.  The
four-piece mix-and-match wardrobe is $195.  Either of the
three-piece ensembles is available for $150.  The blouse
requires five sheets of custom fabric, which you can order
directly from
Sylvia.    SOLD OUT

In the 1990s, Diana brought new glamor and style to the business
suit.  As a working woman, the suit was an essential component
of Diana's working wardrobe.  Among the many stylish suits Diana
wore was a light blue Louis Feraud creation that was trimmed with
matching ribbon.  That suit has been recreated using the blue
Franklin Mint suit (their version of the Chanel suit).  The collar
has been removed, the lapels reshaped, and the ribbons and
gold-rimmed buttons added to create the elegant Feraud suit.
This recreation is $50 PLUS ONE FRANKLIN MINT BLUE SUIT.

When Diana took her son to school
on a chilly spring morning in 1991,
she dressed casually but stylishly in a
floral pleated skirt and burgundy
baggy sweater.  Diana's off-duty outfit
has been interpreted in this doll-sized
ensemble consisting of cotton floral
pleated skirt in shades of gold and
burgundy, as well as a hand-knit
v-neck sweater.  The skirt closes in
back with snaps, and to facilitate easy
dressing of the doll, the sweater also
closes in back with snaps.  The skirt
and sweater are $100.

When Lady Diana Spencer attended a dinner party at her family
estate in the fall of 1979, she wore a romantic gown by
Regamus, London in a shade of turquoise which complemented
her lovely blue eyes.  A scant two years later, Diana's innate
style and romantic image would captivate the world.  Diana's
1979 gown is recreated in the same fabrics as the original:
luxurious turquoise silk; creamy dotted swiss organza; delicate
lace; and lush turquoise velvet.  The strapless, full-skirted gown
comes with a matching stole, a velvet belt, and silver lame
pumps; the gown is fully lined in white and closes in the back
with a zipper.  The ensemble is $250.

Diana wore a pretty pink dress designed for her by Victor
Edelstein on several occasions in the late 1980s, including
the official portraits for the Prince of Wales's 40th birthday
in 1988, a tour of Australia that same year, Trooping the
Color, and charity engagements.  Diana sometimes wore a
matching pink straw hat with a pink band; a straight bow; a
floppy bow; and a dickie insert at the v-neckline.  The bows
and dickie were made of coordinating pastel-striped silk.
That dress has been recreated for the 16" doll in pink silk;
like the original, the dress is very fitted from below the bust;
the bodice is gathered at the bust.  The bows and dickie
are made of custom silk by Sylvia Braden, and are
removable to provide the different looks Diana created.
The hat is crocheted of pink ribbon and adorned with a
pink silk band.  The dress closes in back with a zipper.  The
entire ensemble is available for $125; you will need to
order one sheet of striped fabric from
Sylvia as well.

In late 1981, the young Princess attended a ball at
Balmoral Castle, where she dazzled in a romantic
gown designed by the team of Belville-Sassoon.  With
its ruffles and bows, the gown fitted perfectly with the
fairy-tale image which surrounded Diana in the early
years of her marriage.  Like the original, this replica is
made from white silk taffeta and white silk organza.
The ruffled capelet gathers at the center front with a
bow, and the gown fastens in the back with a zipper.
This gown was never worn to a public event, and has
been rarely seen.  This replica gown is $175.

Diana brought the classic suit
back into the fashion spotlight,
as she favored finely tailored
and classically styled suits for
many of her official
engagements.  This black and
white suit is a prime example of
her professional look, and has
been recreated for the vinyl
doll.  The white Franklin Mint
suit jacket has been restyled
with white-dotted black lapels,
pocket flaps, and kerchief.  The
matching skirt completes the
look.  The suit requires one
white Franklin Mint suit and one
sheet of custom printed silk
from
Sylvia Braden.  $60
